GNXAS summer intensive course
satellite of the XAFS14 international conference

Advanced multiple-scattering data-analysis
for the X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy

Directors of the School: A. Di Cicco, A. Filipponi, C. R. Natoli

PROGRAM of the School

The school will take place in Camerino (Italy), immediately after the end of the XAFS14 international conference. It will be a 3-days 24 hours course whose aim is to explain the basic theory underlying the GNXAS method and the details of the simulation and data-analysis approach. The course will include lectures of C. R. Natoli and A. Filipponi about the basic principles and tutorials about methods and practical examples of data-analysis using GNXAS by A. Di Cicco, P. D'Angelo, M. Minicucci, A. Trapananti, E. Principi. Advanced applications using Reverse Monte Carlo techniques (A. Di Cicco, Trapananti) and the new web-based GNXAS platforms (E. Principi) will be illustrated.

Lectures will be held at the University of Camerino on August, 1-3, 2009. Participants will leave Camerino on Tuesday morning, August 4th.

The school is limited to 30 participants, priority is given to PhD students and post-docs. The participation cost will be 150 Euro, a few grants (please ask) may be available.
